Touch-Up Treatment for Minor Shifting or Relapse

Limited Treatment

If you’ve had braces or clear aligners before and your teeth have shifted over time, you’re not alone. Teeth can “drift” after treatment, which is why retainers matter long-term.

At Mischler Orthodontics, limited treatment is designed for small, specific goals, not a full bite correction. It’s often a great fit for adults (and some teens) who want a refinement rather than a full re-do.

What Is Limited Treatment?

Limited orthodontic treatment focuses on correcting minor tooth movement, usually in a specific area (often the front teeth). It may be used to address:

  • Relapse (teeth trending back toward their pre-treatment position)
  • Small spacing, mild crowding, or slight rotations
  • “One or two things” you want improved for cosmetic or functional reasons

Treatment Options We May Use

Depending on what you want to fix, limited treatment at Mischler Orthodontics may include:

  • Clear aligners for eligible minor movements
  • Braces (metal or ceramic) when more control is needed
  • Retainer replacement or adjustment when the main issue is retention and fit

What Limited Treatment Is Not

Limited treatment is not intended to fully correct complex bite issues, jaw discrepancies, or extensive tooth movement. If your exam shows you’d benefit from comprehensive care, we’ll explain why and walk through options.
