Why should my child see an orthodontist at age 7?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this age, children typically have a combination of baby teeth and permanent teeth, allowing an orthodontist to identify potential concerns with jaw growth, tooth development, and bite alignment. At Mischler Orthodontics, our goal isn't necessarily to start treatment early, but to establish an orthodontic home where we can monitor your child's growth and recommend treatment only when it's truly needed.
