What are the early signs my child may need orthodontic treatment?

Some common signs include crowded or overlapping teeth, early or late loss of baby teeth, difficulty biting or chewing, protruding front teeth, crossbites, underbites, and excessive spacing. Habits such as prolonged thumb sucking or mouth breathing may also warrant an evaluation. However, some orthodontic concerns aren't immediately noticeable to parents, which is why an orthodontic evaluation by age 7 is recommended, even if your child's smile appears perfectly straight.
